I sound like my mother

My husband looks at me with shock and awe.  What's the matter? I say.  You sound just like your mother he says.
Now, I loved my mother very much.  She died two years ago and I miss her but want to sound like her?  No.
When, how does it happen?  I hear the words coming out of my mouth, that tone of voice.  Is it because I'm over fifty?
